Software development for online license extension for medical personnel project initiated by the Healthcare workers’ professional licensing division of the Department of Health has been successfully implemented.
WHO Representative office in Mongolia supported this project on March 15 2009 and EON LLC was selected as the contractor and developed software with the purpose of online registering information once and avoiding duplicate registry.
HealthNet, a custom and web-based application enables human resource officers of the Department of Health of 21 aimags and healthcare facilities of the nine districts of the capital city to register and update profiles of doctors, pharmacists and nurses in their jurisdiction.

- Preliminary estimation of need for the number of extensions
- Public access to information on whether a particular doctors has a valid license
- Database of medical practice /continuous registration of transfer and query on previous work experience for human resource staff /

Future initiatives:
HealthNet has a potential to be developed as healthcare human resource information system and there is a need to collect information on healthcare professionals apart from the doctors, nurses and pharmacists.
In addition, there is a necessity to develop a system that would support research and needs assessment with the help of human resource information database of healthcare facilities.
